This is an installation inspired by sunlight through leaves, casting shifting red patterns onto closed eyelids.
It explores afterimages and persistence of vision — treating the eye as a recorder that can briefly hold light. The participant lies on a deliberately uncomfortable medical-style chair, connected to it through a conductive armrest, so body and system become one.
Guided by voice, the participant closes their eyes; scanning red light is cast onto their eyelids, producing internalised imagery.
The work evokes warmth and calm, yet its unsettling structure and intrusive laser movement build tension — a sharp contrast with the seemingly mild title 'Have a Nice Day'. Tenderness is only a surface.
